There's something magical about photographing couples in the spaces they've made their own. When I welcomed my cousin Jeremy and his partner Bethany for a fall session in Jersey City, I knew we were creating something special. None of us realized we were documenting the early chapters of what would become their marriage story.
The autumn light streamed through the windows, casting a golden glow across the space as they moved together with an ease that spoke volumes. What struck me most wasn't the perfectly timed jokes Jeremy whispered in Bethany's ear or the way her laugh would bubble up in response. It was the comfortable silence between those moments. The quiet glances. The unconscious way they gravitated toward each other in every frame.
As we moved from the cozy indoor setting to the rooftop with its stunning NYC skyline views, I witnessed something rare in my cousin: complete vulnerability. Having known Jeremy my entire life, I've seen him in countless relationships, but never had I seen him so utterly himself, so unguarded, so present. Bethany had unlocked something in him that made my camera's job effortless.

His hand finding the small of her back. Both of them collapsing into laughter at inside jokes I'll never fully understand.
