Intimate Brooklyn City Hall Winter Elopement

In case you’ve never entered Brooklyn’s marriage bureau let me tell one simple fact: it knocks Manhattan’s marriage bureau out of the park. A more spacious chapel and much shorter queues are just a couple of reasons why you should forget about the long standing borough war—but we’ll leave that for another day.

Steph and Steven reached out to me with casual plans to “elope” earlier in the year, without any details other than a simple dinner reception at Cecconi’s. That left us with a full day to run around downtown Brooklyn and hit up every picturesque spot around DUMBO (my favorite being the rooftop right above the restaurant). We finally escaped the cold by cozying up in the warm and beautifully decorated Cecconi’s bar before snapping some incredible night-time portraits.

And don’t be fooled by the breezy dress—that December day was freezing and I still don’t know how Steph voluntarily made it all day without a coat. I guess true love keeps you warm ;)
